Ragi Millet is a hearty South Indian breakfast dish. This can be done for either lunch or dinner. Ragi is the Kannada name for crimson millet, which belongs to the millet family. It is a staple food in Karnataka.

Ragi, also known as Finger Millet, is an annual plant. The earliest evidence of this exhibit may be found in India, notably in the southern parts of the country, specifically in the state of Karnataka.

It’s a popular weight-loss regimen in Karnataka, and it’s also known as the negative man’s protein diet. Making small balls out of flour known as ‘Ragi Balls’ or known as ‘Ragi mudde’ in Kannada (will share the recipe soon) became and continues to be his weight loss plan when he went farming. Ingredients

Noodles: Ragi millet flour, whole wheat flour, salt & purified water.
Masala: Pepper, Tomato powder, amchur powder, green chili, cardamom, and bay leaf.

How to Prepare

  • Take a pan and add 6 cups of water. Add a suitable amount of salt and boil it.
  • Add 2 teaspoons of oil to the pan. And add said millet noodles. Boil for 2 Minutes.
  • After it cools, drain the water and add a cup of cold water, drain it.
  • Place a pan on the stove, add two chopped onions, one tomato chopped, vegetables,mix with 25 gms of ginger, garlic paste. Cook the mix for a few minutes.
  • Add the boiled said millet Noodles with the cooked vegetables and seasoning mix, coriander leaves. Toss and serve hot.
